Cost savings are realized by eliminating unnecessary site labor and by reusing the existing chalk trays, map rails and related accessories. This application is highly recommended for original installations that occurred prior to 1970. Before this time most chalkboards were installed with adhesive and permanently set within wood frames or field applied aluminum framing. Demolition of this type of writing board can lead to asbestos removal issues and costly wall repairs.
